There are many ways to communicate with other people from different places of the world. And nowadays, one of the leading communicating devices is cellphone. Most people use phone calls and text messages. But, do all people use texting wisely?
Well, teenagers of this generation are all fond of using cellphone. They spend most of their time with texting. You can even see teenagers texting while walking, eating, laying on bed and even on school during class hours. It seemingly obvious that text messaging is for people's benefits but together with these conveniences is its negative effects on people. Most people do not use texting the way it should be. They do not use correct punctuation marks, spelling, and not even paying attention to proper grammar rules. Nowadays, there are lots of jejemon coming from nowhere. They even use numbers on their words which made those words difficult to read especially for the old people and for people who use correct spelling and grammar. These people don't even know how these methods of text messaging of theirs affect their English fluency. We can simply observe it from the way they talk and the way they compose essays or paragraphs in school. It affects their language proficiency because they use 'jeje words' or 'jeje sentences' in communicating with other people especially to their 'co-jejemon'. They will eventually forget how to spell the correct words. They might have low scores in spellings too.
